You now see women as action heros, using spinning back kicks to knock out burly white men - all while taking punches to the face that would dislodge their skull from their spine were it real life.

A couple of years ago there was criticism that Midsommer Murders was just too white

The show's producer caused that dust-up when he said this:

He was being candid, and was quickly fired, after he produced 14 series and made the show an institution.

After that the new folks added a dash or two of woke to keep the pee-cee police at bay.

It may well be profitable at some point, but not yet. Rule of thumb add 50% of the production cost for dist/marketing. Also the movie theaters get their cut although not a great amount hence $8 popcorn.
