NP...good points, all. The speed of our descent is astonishing.

I grew up with parents who lived through the Great Depression, WW II, and the Korean War. Nobody escaped the long arm of those things or the privation they caused.

We have such incredible wealth and leisure now that a part of the populace is monger serious about life but is free to indulge in ridiculous things like “pride” and trannies and socialism. Somehow we let the inmates take over the asylum.

I’m afraid the only path back to normalcy is another great cataclysm.

Is that some sort of Windows 10 "feature"?

I get nothing from MS on my W7 machines.

Yup, a lot of FL is like that. Full of HOAs and every other form of rules for your house. Some places give you four colors to choose from when repainting “your” home.

On the flop side, I live in rural MO where there’s no rules and so some people use their front yard for a trash pile.

“And it’s only the biggest celebration in the state of Florida and most of the country.”

Horse shit.

Correct....I live in a condo and nothing would be allowed to hang from a railing.....nothing.

You reminded me of living in Sacramento in 1976 just after the fall of Viet Nam. My shift supervisor at the McClellan AFB - Tech Control, SSGT Hoffman, got off shift, went home and found his Vietnamese bride drying fish on the balcony of his apartment. He said he beat her or he just felt like it. ... or something like that.

Same, including a click here to hear of our LGBTQWERTY employees’ struggles. Yeah, no.

How much pride can she have if she didn’t even bother to iron the thing?

Home Owners Associations can be very strict. But they tell you exactly what to expect within the contract. If you sign, that means you have agreed to the terms.

And the rules can change, based on what regime comprising the ruling board. Which is why I would NEVER knowingly buy into such a community.

Drying fish? Hysterical.

I was naïve enough to think flags, laundry, and beach towels would be about it.

"And you watch, pretty soon businesses that don’t push the gay agenda will be deemed hate groups and discriminatory- and forced out of business."

Three or four years ago, the City of Seattle instituted a program in which businesses are asked to post a decal in their storefront window declaring themselves to be "safe spaces" for homosexuals. Last I heard, NO business had refused the "offer." I suspect they feared that refusal to post the decal could get them targeted as anti-gay, possibly boycotted or harassed, and possibly driven out of business.

This program is administered by a full-time POLICE OFFICER, himself gay. The city has also painted some crosswalks in rainbow colors, and painted some police cars with pro-gay messages.

I understand that problem. By coincidence, just today a smashed-up car was finally removed from the lawn of a nearby house where it had been sitting for the last 16 months. There's something to be said for those pesky rules that govern condos and gated communities.

It means so much to her that she bought a new phlag and didn’t even iron it.
