One doesn’t become absurdly wealthy by spending one’s own money.
If it is any consolation, those old castles and other huge buildings are damp, dank, drafty. I am allergic to mold and could never live there. Even Queeny wanted tax payers to pay her heating bills.

The British relationship with the royal family is interesting - no one is forcing the Brits to spend their tax money giving this family of chinless, buck-toothed inbreds the sort of lifestyle that most people can only dream about. They do it because they want to. But they also want to complain about it. Apparently it’s all part of some weird package deal.

Several months ago, I told my British born husband that Meghan would eventually force Harry back to LA. She cannot stand being away from the limelight (can you just imagine the attention she will get from the Leftist fawning Press, if they move back here??). In Brit newspapers/magazines, she is called an ‘A-list actor’. Personally, I had never heard of her before she started dating Harry. And yes, Archie is an anchor baby. Whatever happens, she will forever be linked to the Royal Family. ‘What Meghan wants, Meaghan gets’ is what Harry told all the Royal minions before their wedding. I suspect he will live to regret those words.
If you want to know what you are going to look like when she gets older, look at her dad.
Maybe she’ll “slip” on one of her signature bananas.
There are exceptions, but I have found that most people look like the parent of the opposite sex. Courting gents should check out the gal’s dad, not her mom.
YEARS ago I saw an interview with Fergie talking about her time as a royal. She talked about how cold, damp, and drafty the castle was. She was not allowed to go down to the kitchen for a midnight snack. It actually sounded pretty miserable.
I happen to be a big fan of Queen Elizabeth. I’m old enough to remember WW2, the bombing of London, the blitz night after night. Many if not most Londoners who had any money at all sent their children to the country to get away from those horrors, but the Royal Family stayed and very young Princess Elizabeth gave talks on the radio discussing the bombing, the horrible tragedy of killings, and urging people to get into shelters. I will never forget her bravery, even when Buckingham Palace was hit by a bomb.
And then her father died and she became a very young queen. Burdens most young women could not have withstood, no matter how rich and famous.

Yes, a good chance that could happen. I thought perhaps the royals would be happy to see Markle leave, but the publicity she & Archie would get in the U.S. would be far worse than if they kept her & the baby under control in the UK. I don’t think the Windsors yet have the broad mindedness about mixed race marriage that does most of today’s Western society. I’m surprised the queen consented to the union, given Markle’s ethnicity, status as a divorcé, and being older than Harry and near the end of her child bearing years. That Kate is fecund and is producing a series of potential heirs to the throne may have influenced the queen’s thinking, plus at her age, she’s likely getting tired of it all.
She is SO transparently a gold digger who has spent her life sweet talking, schmoozing, and sleeping with anyone that advances her self interests.
I am calling it right now. This marriage will not last. She will make a CAREER out of being the ex-wife of royalty.
