What is Illinois —the Shut Up and Take It State — truly known for?
Tennessee, for example, is known for Jack Daniels, country music and that famous horse, The Tennessee Stud.
Kentucky is known for bourbon and Republican Sen. Rand Paul. Wisconsin? The hated Packers.
California is known for high taxes, liberal movie stars and piles of human feces on the sidewalks of its great cities.
And Massachusetts is famed for the authentic Native American cuisine of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who once published her proud Cherokee recipe for “cold omelets with crab meat” in the cookbook “Pow Wow Chow.”
But what is Illinois known for? There’s so much to choose from.
Political corruption? Check. High taxes going higher? Check. Political bosses who get richer and richer while taxpayers get poorer and poorer? Check.
If there’s one thing Illinois does just about better than any state, it’s this:
Making economic refugees of its own people.
The Shut Up and Take It State on the prairie has lost 157,000 people over the past five years.
Actually, that’s a lie. Illinois didn’t “lose” any residents. They’re not “lost.” They ran away on purpose.
And the way billionaire Gov. Big Boy is governing, raising taxes with plans to raise even more in 2020 — while his wealth is stashed in offshore accounts — even more Illinoisans will leave.
Our politicians are doing what they can, trying to stupify us with pot smoking and sports betting, and they’ll probably legalize prostitution next, so the rest of the state will be like Springfield, but here’s the question:
How can Illinois take advantage of the Illinois Exodus and monetize outmigration from Madiganistan?

157,000 divided by 5 equals 31,400. That’s a medium sized town leaving every single year. Or more than the entire cities of Naperville or Rockford or Elgin every 5 years.
Illinois is doing a slow motion implosion right in front of our very eyes. And as soon as is humanly possible Mrs. L and I will be adding to that number.
It’s a damned shame, too. I know lots of folks here like to bash Illinois but there are hundreds of thousands of good solid folks here. And once you get 90 minutes or so from NE Illinois it’s a beautiful state.
I grew up here and I’m sad for what’s been done. Some people say we should stay and fight. But I’ve been doing that for 20 years. Even got myself elected to some very minor political office in the foolish idea I could do something to change things.
But the cold hard fact is that Illinois is beyond saving. So it’s time to pack up and head for someplace more sane before the wheels come off. And they will come off.

I say tax the hell of the Illinois populous. Einstein supposedly stated the first sign of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting different results. Well the one thing the folks of Illinois keep on doing the same is electing Democrats or crooks however one wants to state it
My advice to actual Americans (not socialists) living in Illinois: get out as soon as you can. Do not wait for the taxes to go ever higher til they completely crush the economy. Do not wait until the exodus is so great that your property value tanks like Detroit. If you own a small business or indeed any business, relocate just as fast as you can. Don’t let the socialists steal your business from you or suck every last drop of your blood via confiscatory taxes.
Too bad the people that are leaving here are largely becoming viruses that will infect other states politics and screw them up as much as they've screwed Illinois up.
Florida, Tennessee, Arizona are top destinations. Do NOT go to any of those three states.

Take a drive north on 94 across the Wisconsin state line sometime. It’s frigging booming. And at least half of the SMBs up there used to be in Illinois. Do the same thing on the very same highway across the Indiana state line. Same thing.
Illinois will be one of the first states to default on bond payments. Mark my words. And when that happens things will get very interesting. Once all those EBT cards in Chicago stop working the feral Morlocks are going to explode.
If by some chance we are still here when it happens I’m going to pour 3 fingers of my best Scotch, light a fine cigar, and watch the rosy glow in the eastern sky as the south and west sides go up in flames.
And I’m going to laugh and laugh and laugh.

Right now Texas tops our list. Kentucky would do in a pinch.

There's hardly anywhere left to go in America to escape the violence of the narcotics dealers... And now that the democrats have made our borders wide open it's going to get a hundred times worse then it ever was... Murder and mayhem will rule the day and the decent folk will live behind walls, iron bars and concertina wire in order to protect their lives and their children from the kidnappers.. The drug gangs will have the freedom of the streets... Just like South America..
I live in the hills Appalachia.. The boonies.! I've been told the crime here is now higher, per capita, then it is in Detroit.. Meth and crack are everywhere. In every bar, every poolroom, every school and pot in almost every pocket... This use to be "the Bible belt".! But now There's no place left to run to.
Sadly, many of Illinois’ downstate citizens are like my brother Mike, who lives between Galesburg and the Quad Cities. He can’t afford to stay and he can’t afford to leave.
If legal alcohol didn't do that, legal pot won't either.
