Not at all. I liked the chalked tire test, but it seems to me that it would be harder to pull off in practice than you might think (cold tires, truly flat uniform surface, uniform quarter inch mark, ...). Inflation level is a trade off between gas mileage, comfort, handling, and tire wear. YMMV.
