Remember well. Tough month to be the top story with the moon landing and Ted’s driving misdemeanor.

Jerry Qualls? Not sure of the spelling, but yes I recall it. Truly, great days!

Dave Guard of the Kingston Trio was dating Tom Seaver’s sister and her parents gave him a song that had been in the family for thirty years. “Scotch and Soda” didn't have a songwriter credit so Dave took the credit and it became the most requested song of the Kingston Trio, 1957-1967.

Jim iirc. Of all of the Cubs stars that could have broken up Tom’s Perfecto Bid, it had to be him!

Of course, I go back to when there was a
reason to call the other team the New York FOOTBALL Giants.

I remember going to Red Sox game in August of that year with the Cub Scouts, on a bus, and when the subject of who the good teams were, I said “keep an eye on the Mets”. I practically got laughed off the bus.
To: Jim Noble
Of course he was. He mentioned Seaver. That is why I didn’t include him in my answer.

It was a really, really, really busy year...
When I look back on it, an astounding number of big events happened over the span from 1963 to 1969.

When my dad played in the minors he knew Ed Kranepool. Kranepool graduated from Monroe HS in daBronx a few years after my mom.
