The smartest thing national politicians ever did was to welcome the confederates back with honor, leaving their symbols and traditions intact.
The stupidest thing they have ever done was to take it back.

Gen. Bragg was “controversial” to say the least. To his rank and file he was a strict disciplinarian and his officers back stabbed him often. At least the cannons were all shiny.

Let’s send Speaker pukosi and Sen schoomur down to Alabama to dedicate a new Military Post: Fort William Tecumseh Sherman.
Doing it in Georgia would be more effective...

Accede to one demand, why, they got ten more ready to go.
I bet one of them would be, with the blessings of the declitorized Fakestinian Tlaib and her brother f***ing girlfriend Omar, an end to any grants or other funding to the Holocaust museums, then force them to pay some jizyah. Then ultimately have them shut down and their artifacts destroyed because they offend the tender sensibilities of their peace loving Moslem terrorist jihadi bretheren.

And the very reason we shouldn’t allow desecration of Confederate memorials now. BTW, I was born in IL and practiced in IL, MI, and WI before moving to TN.

To my knowledge, Bragg is the only senior officer of the Confederate army that does not have a statue of him somewhere in the United States.

It’s various Forts, Camps and posts in the south that are named after confederate generals etc. I don’t think it’s been in practice much of late.

We havent really had need of new forts/camps/posts since the WWII/early Cold War era. Long before SJWs.
Make no mistake about it, Washington, Jefferson, and the like are next, if we let the Orwellian Leftist Taliban have their way.

It’s not about the names. It’s about their military prowess.
Should our current leaders be prevented from studying the brilliant tactics of great generals?
Patton studied Rommel. Or should we on study “nice” generals who taught how not to offend politicians?

The Sununu, Romney and Trump families know nothing of Forts Bragg, Hood or Benning...at least not from personal experience!
