Europe in crisis mode, Germany's in trouble
Fox Business ^ | 8/17/19 | Henry Fernandez

The health of Europe's largest economy is in trouble as Germany teeters on the edge of a recession.

A decline in exports dampened the German economy, which shrunk by 0.1 percent in the second quarter of 2019.

Concerns over a recession have the German government reportedly under pressure to ditch its self-imposed balance budget, or Black Zero rule, and finance more fiscal stimulus with new debt. The country’s 10-year Bund yield, which hit an all-time record low earlier in the day, responded to the stimulus, bouncing up slightly.

“In Europe, its crisis mode,” Brenner said. “And even you had one of the European governors come out earlier this week and say they are going to give us a shock and awe on September 12.”

Maybe a balanced budget isn't as great as some people think it is.

Why doesn't the German government want to do tax cuts and regulation cuts to stimulate their economy?

Maybe they should consider doing a better Brexit deal, while they still have a chance.

73 days left, after today.

I’m guessing a lot of Germans are government employees.

I’ve noticed in my commonwealth, Kentucky, that even though our governor (Matt Bevin) is incredible, and basically an “articulate Donald Trump”, a lot of my conservative Christian friends want him out. The reason? He’s trying to fix a horribly corrupt and seriously debt ridden state employee pension nightmare - and every one of those people that don’t like him are either school teachers or have one in the family. Every. Single. One.

Germany has invested heavily into the green craze. The true cost of electricity has risen dramatically. Much of the capital that their private businesses under government pressure invested into green products and manufacturing has been squandered. Their economy and the EU which follows has been weakened. The green craze is far more to blame for this international recession than tariffs.

Exactly. One has to ask as Germany has been a leading export driven economy where has all the money gone?

Because they're control freaks! They will NEVER lower taxes...only increase! I hope Trump moves our bases to Poland!

Sounds like a good time for the UK to desert this sinking ship and develop a better trading relationship with the USA.

Don’t worry. All the Moozlems imported will grow the economy.

Nothing worse than a phony Christian who puts his/herself’s interests above what is right.

".... I’m guessing a lot of Germans are government employees....."

Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of non-assimilated Muslims who are not working and on the dole. And causing a dramatic increase in the German crime rate.

I have a good friend who I met here in Florida who was denied an extension of his work visa 2 years ago and had to return to Germany last year.

He'd lived here for 12 years, is a skilled craftsmen, had a good job, was paying taxes, owned a home and was married and raising a family and we kicked him out. He's the kind of immigrant we want to keep, not the hoards of unskilled masses from Central America.

Anyway, back to the subject of my comment, he came back here for two weeks last month to visit friends.

He said Germany has changed so much for the worse since he left. It is overrun by Muslims who don't work and rape their women. He blames it all on Merkel's lack of leadership and her bone-headed decision to allow mass migration.

He basically said, she has ruined the country. It will never be the same again.

The Deep State extends to those with something to lose as well...like current and former public employees.

yes...I posted my hypothesis that if we packed up and moved out wholesale, Germany’s (and possibly Europe’s) economy would collapse. Someone here pointed out their present economic numbers do not indicate that. My answer to that is that their whole economy since 1945 has floated on the tailcoats of Uncle Sugar! If we pull out that carpet there would be bedlam!

And this has what to do with U.S. tariffs on China? Zero, zip, zilch, nada.

Yet, watch the media try to pin the coming recession in Europe on U.S. tariffs. The fact is that Europe is slowing down for reasons of multiple European (EU) policies and multiple policies of multiple EU countries.

This is what the democrats and media hope will happen. A European economic crisis to spread and bring down Donald Trump.

They’re cheerleaders for doom and gloom.

“Screw ‘little’ people being hurt, we want our control and power back!”

Merkel’s lack of leadership and her bone-headed decision to allow mass migration.

I believe Angela did exactly what the transnationalist elites wanted done. ‘Change the demographic’ in as large away as possible to reduce the influence of those deplorable white hetero normatives and cause as much chaos as possible as a deflection measure (look a squirrel) so the populace would not notice the full impact of globullization

Because their socialist government needs more money to support all those Muslims they let in who are living on the public dole.

Also deregulation? That would mean bureaucrats would have to give up some power. Clearly you don’t understand Germans very well.

No doubt they’ve squandered huge amounts of money on Gaia Worship. The Germans in particular have always been suckers for whatever wasteful sacrifices Earth Mother Gaia demands. A big aim of their foreign policy was to cripple our economy as much as possible with Gaia Worship so they can hope to stay competitive.

I agree but I think Merkel overshot the mark.

I also read sometime back, that Merkel knew the German birth rate was not sufficient to sustain their population, and in turn their work force, so she decided to import workers from the Muslim countries of make up for the shortfall.

Big mistake. Not only do they have all of these Muslims in the country now but they are unskilled and won't work. They're all of the dole.

And another unintended consequence of her Leftist decision, was that the Muslim population's birth rate will accelerate and they will one day be overrun by Muslims.

IOW, no more Germany as we know it.
