I have a few old cans, was considering selling them at my yard sale. Nope, keeping them as I think about all the difficulty using the newer cans. Never spilled any from the old ones, but the newer ones always end up with spilled gas - they don’t fulfill their purpose at all as spills release more fumes than ever before.

I would not be surprised if there was a course on how to properly use one of these bright ideas. Properly done in government fashion, it would take 10 hours, of which 8.75 would be on the evils of fossil fuels and environmentalism. At the end of the course, you the citizen viewer, will have an overwhelming desire to douse and apply ignition.
You can get 5gallon jerry cans made for water. You paint them red.

I have no problem relating to you on this. Only Liberals could screw something up so badly.
I used to buy 5 gallon Blitz Gas containers at Wal-mart for 5 bucks. Before the changeover. Hang on to them if you got em because they are worth their weight in gold.
Speaking of which how many people know that Blitz was put out of business because someone used one of the cans to pour gas on a bonfire. When they got hurt then they sued Blitz because the container had no warning not to do that. And they won.
Perfect example of why government is NOT the answer to 95% of problems. And the 5% is only what’s allowed in our COTUS.
I too have spilled far more gas with these brain farts than with the simple, old-style spouts. I got EZ Pour spouts, but the spout flange is thin and weak, can pull through cap. More marginally made stuff ;(
I miss the old metal flex spouts like I miss Grandpa’s America.

I own four, and TWO of the 10 liter cans.
You can NOT believe how easy they have made my life, storing, handling, transferring gas and diesel.
I spray painted two of ‘em yellow for diesel, store 110 gallons on my farm, use a self-designed contraption of two filters and a pump to “polish” the fuel so there’s nothing in them larger than 1 micron. Every time I go to fill up my truck, I fill up the cans, and transfer them to the storage tanks.
May still buy a home heating oil tank for the same purpose (250-300 gallon size).
Do NOT buy the cheap Chicom crap cans sold through amazon. They don’t seal right and the lining dissolves over time. I bought two of ‘em for Kerosene and wish I had just bought another set of four of the NATO cans.
They’re sold for potable water only, but they’re fine for gas/diesel, even with preservatives/additives.
Buy once, cry once.
