I have to admit, I like what this fellow has to say when it comes to airline passenger screening. Why are we checking out every flyer who wants to hop on a flight? The little old lady from Peoria wanting to board a flight with her knitting needles and thread isn't a threat, usually. But a young fellow from parts of the Middle East who's pretty vocal about his support for various jihadist causes probably is. So why aren't we just screening that guy, VIGOROUSLY, and letting the little old lady go through a very abbreviated screening process? Food for thought, I'd say.

The short answer is political correctness.

After Sept 11th, our government officials wanted to bend over backwards to prove that we weren’t discriminatory against Muslims. So we decided to thoroughly search everyone, so then CAIR and other Muslim groups couldn’t accuse us of discrimination.

We aren’t allowed to say that some young Muslim man from another country is a higher risk than a little old lady. We have been compelled to say that everyone is an equal risk to hijack a plane or set our shoes or underwear on fire.

Have a service pick up your luggage and have it screened in advance if you don’t want to wait at the airport.
