I guess this is to lend credence to a report that will surely have many detractors. Statistically it’s irrelevant.

The problem is, Dickson is going to have to learn how to fly first

Sorry Boeing.

After one year of service, 130 MAXs had been delivered to 28 customers, logging over 41,000 flights in 118,000 hours and flying over 6.5 million passengers.

it’s not going to fix crappy third world airlines with sh*tty pilots, shoddy maintenance practices, and miserable safety records trying to fly an advanced, brand new aircraft.

all of which were the originating causes of the ethiopian airlines and lion air crashes.

I don’t think the 737 Max is going to recover. It may be safe, but after killing 600 people in computer malfunctions, it is going to be the Pinto in the sky.

I’m surprised the FAA hasn’t scheduled a series of test flights to verify the software fix. I know that EASA in Europe and CAAC in China are insisting on that.

“I’m the final sign-off authority in the U.S., and I’m not going to sign off on the aircraft until I would fly it myself."

This statement seems a little cagey. Sounds like he's saying he wants it to be something he "would" fly, not "will" fly.

“I will fly the Max."

This qualifier doesn't help. He's not saying he'll be hands on, but he will be on a Max.

Sorry, but the skepticism bone in my head is twitching...

In our unit, every 100 hours flight time would take the birds apart, inspect, repair and put together again.

The first flight off the maint pad would include the maint warrant officer, the lead tech inspector, and the crew chief.

You bet all the t's were crossed.
