The problem may have been just that particular brand of shampoo.

I recommend trying a different brand, but good shampoo and conditioner is good for your hair.

When I was very young, I used a particular brand, heavily advertised, and my hair started to fall out in clumps. I switched shampoos and it grew back and stayed great.

I have used shampoo that has left my hair thin and lifeless.
Now I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Lemon Sage Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. Mostly the shampoo. I will switch to their Tea Tree shampoo sometimes.
