What are they talking about?
I wanted to get one of those eighty mile per gallon diesels.
This just proves how stupid government regulations are. Instead of 80 miles per gallon you burn 40 miles per gallon....
The diesel I just traded last year got an honest 53MPG on the Interstate.The one I bought last year,substantially bigger than my previous one...and with a bigger engine (6 cylinders vs 4)...gets an honest 48MPG on the highway.
IIRC there are at least one or two diesel hybrids sold in Europe that do even better than that...but it's my understanding that they're small and rather plain.
