Hugh McColl was always a corporate bully.
I always admired the job he did on those San Francisco bankers. The San Francisco sophisticates thought they were putting one over on the Southern rubes. Until McColl jerked the rug out from under them.
As for the current litigation - I don't currently have an opinion, except that I'm glad I can now get Duke's mayonnaise in Texas.

That is a rather polite way to put it.
He and my father were friends- went to high school together. The last time I saw Mr. McCall was at my father’s funeral. He got his corporate “grit” and business “sense” from his family.
