I need help with firearms identification for Blakefield Wildcat cartridges. I found references to 12-cal., 14-cal., and 17-cal., wildcats listed with the name "Blakefield" on the old Qual-Cart site. I know nothing of these cartridges or firearms.
I am hoping there might be a Freeper who has some knowledge of these cartridges and the guns so chambered.
Did some searches and nothing came up. There’s lots of .17 cal variants out there, but haven’t heard anything about 12-14 cals.
the old Qual-Cart site is the only reference I have ever found either.
that site also listed other really bizarre wildcats:
for example — the 32 S & W Short necked down to 7mm
for the life of me, I have no Earthly idea what such a pipsqueak cartridge could be used for.
Are these shells you found in a old house? Storage unit? Great aunt Gertrude's house?
Don’t be silly. Everyone knows Corn Pop used that specific wildcat cartridge in his zip gun.
I copied the page years ago and I have finally found the time to get back to researching the various listings. I just hoped that there might be a Freeper or two that might remember them.
these are wildcats, not commercial production beyond Qual-Cart.com from many years ago, I have never found any other listing for them. It is possible they were from a custom smith from the ‘00’s or so. But I do not know.
Link at the Qual-Cart site? I’ve heard of .10 Squirrel and .12 Squirrel. Nothing about Blakefield.
I never heard of them...
I expect that if anyone knows about them, someone here would:

They went out of business for a few years starting in 2008, or rather I thought they had, apparently they are still in business and this is the link to their product catalog and the blakefield wildcats are not listed. http://www.qual-cart.com/catalog.pdf
thanks, I give them a look.
let me guess 4 gauge, 4 inch shell?
Well that would answer a lot questions. Thank you. What is the parent cartridge (if you know it)?
Don’t know. All I know it was designed by a guy named Frank Brakefield.
Okay, thank you for the information, the copy of the old Qual-Cart page I saved has a family of cartridges named Blakefield, I assume it was a typographical error.

thank you for the link.
