If you had a Yahoo account between 2012 and 2016 you may be eligible for damage payment resulting from a class-action lawsuit filed against the tech giant.
Some users will be eligible for credit monitoring and identity recovery assistant services from AllClearID, paid for by Yahoo.
Others will be eligible for a cash payment of up to $358.80 to reimburse for credit monitoring services paid out of pocket.

this will be like equifax..so many claims you get nothing
To: RummyChick
Yes, I am one of those due money from Equifax. Not only doubt the $125, doubt they will ever get around to actually doing anything.
It will all be eaten up by administrative expenses.

I recently got a check for over $20 from an Olive Oil suit. I think they may be the biggest I have ever seen.

The lawyers in the class action suits make all the money. Everyone actually affected by it gets $1.09 (The Jerk).

I remember after they got hacked I started geting emails asking for money from some of my yahoo email contacts. They all stated that they were stuck in foreign countries and needed money URGENTLY to get back home because their money was stolen. Latter, I asked those people about it and they said it wasn't them. In two of the emails they claimed to be stuck in Russia and the other one was Costa Rica.

unfortunately, a “freeze” does NOT prevent their databases from being hacked and stolen en masse, which is what happened with equifax ...
