When I studied Isshin Ryu under Master Harold Long (look him up) in the early ‘60’s, every Saturday was dedicated to nothing but “street techniques”...

I never had a problem...

And that is it, The knowledge and physical shape is what’s important. Anyone who has had years of Martial arts training and are any good becomes unorthodox in a real street fight. It ain’t the movies, you completely forget about form and do the deed as quick as possible with just a few blows without any rules.

Poke the eyes, slap the ears, then nail the adam’s apple followed with a couple kicks to the groin as fast as possible. Then finish him or run like hell. He’s done and you are gone. This is the true object of martial arts, not to stand there and trade punches back and forth like a John Wayne movie or a ring fight.

It is life or death survival on the street, it is you or him, and martial arts does indeed teach you how to do this very effectively and quickly.
