At Least 9 Members of Mormon Family in Mexico Are Killed in Ambush
New York Times | November 5, 2019 | Azam Ahmed, Elisabeth Malkin and Daniel Victor

MEXICO CITY — At least three women and six children in a prominent local Mormon family were killed on Monday when their vehicles were ambushed in northern Mexico by gunmen believed to be members of organized crime, family members said. The attack alarmed a nation already reeling from record violence this year.

Members of the LeBarón family, American citizens who have lived in a fundamentalist Mormon community in the border region for decades, were traveling in three separate vehicles when the gunmen attacked, several family members said. They described a terrifying scene in which one child was gunned down while running away, while others were trapped inside a burning car.

Two of the children killed were less than a year old, the family members said. Kenny LeBarón, a cousin of the women driving the vehicles, said in a telephone interview that he feared the death toll could grow higher.

“When you know there are babies tied in a car seat that are burning because of some twisted evil that’s in this world,” Mr. LeBarón said, “it’s just hard to cope with that.”

How can your family be “American citizens” when the family has lived in Mexico for almost 100 years?

I don’t know if you’re talking politics while reading about babies burning alive in a car, but this is a horror and these were American citizens.

Horrible.

Yes, that famous historical event in which Mormon families killed members of Mexican criminal gangs.

Good gravy!

"Fundamentalist Mormon." meaning poligamy.

Anna LeBaron: How I escaped my father's murderous polygamous cult

Anna LeBaron's father, Ervil, was the leader of a polygamous cult responsible for more than 20 murders. The killings continued even after his death thanks to a hit list he had left behind. Here Anna speaks for the first time about how she escaped from the cult - and her hope to "redeem" the LeBaron name.

May God have mercy on the souls of the victims of these evil murders and execute judgment and justice on the perpetrators and those who applaud or support them.

1000% agree Killing children and babies deserves retribution. It is pure evil. Do we need the modern equivalent of Pershing’s expedition to clean up the border region? The government of Mexico has lost control of their country.

LeBarón family?

Obviously descendants of the Romney-Chrysler empire.

Well, these Mexican Mormons appear to have been going to the United States to have the American tax payer pay for the delivery of children whilst simultaneously gaining dual citizenship through said anchor babies.

Then they return to Mexico which (as the article explains) is where the family has actually lived for the last century.

Mexicans killing Mexicans isn't our problem.

“I don’t know if you’re talking politics”

I agree it is horrible. But everything is politics.

If the Dem’s had supported the wall and tougher drug intervention policies the cartels would be less powerful and less aggressive. Mexico has an internal war on its hands and I look for Trump to assist them bigtime after his re-election.

(Blame Obama and Holder for weaponizing them with “Fast & Furious.” During Operation Fast and Furious, the largest “gunwalking” probe, the ATF monitored the sale of about 2,000 firearms, of which only 710 were recovered as of February 2012. A number of straw purchasers have been arrested and indicted; however, as of October 2011, none of the targeted high-level cartel figures had been arrested.)

We have a vested interest in Mexico being peaceful, to the extent that it is directly impacting the USA.

Gallows humor is a very natural way to handle unbearable horror. It is not as callous as it sounds.

Thanks for the history lesson. I Googled the expedition and learned the following:

“General Pershing’s Mexican Expedition to capture Pancho Villa predates his World War I career

“The small American town of Columbus, New Mexico, was the site of a major event 100 years ago today. On March 9, 1916, spurred by events in the Mexican Revolution, General Francisco “Pancho” Villa’s forces attacked the camp of the 13th Cavalry Regiment. In reaction to this attack, President Woodrow Wilson appointed General John Pershing as commander of a U.S. Army expeditionary force that was to capture Villa and police the U.S.-Mexico border. Called the Punitive Expedition at the time, this was just the beginning of a lengthy search for Villa that never resulted in his capture, now known as the Mexican Expedition. It took place March 14, 1916, to February 7, 1917.

Why did Villa attack? It’s complicated, but here’s a quick summary. The Mexican Revolution was an uprising that impacted the social, economic, and political life of both Mexico and the United States. The United States had become heavily invested in Mexican mining, railroads, and oil operations and protected these investments through military and political interventions in Mexico. In support of their people, Mexican revolutionary leaders sought land reforms and the nationalization of these operations.

At one time, President Wilson supported Villa and then later withdrew support. Angered by the reversal, Villa attacked.”

Per the article:

The massacre came a decade after two other members of the LeBarón family were kidnapped and murdered after they confronted the drug gangs that exercise de facto control over the empty endless spaces of the borderlands south of Arizona.

A family member and other Mormons settled a town in Mexico in the 1940s; many of its residents speak English and have dual citizenship.

Vote Romney and his hardcore Socialists.

They cannot, the LeBaron family is all dead because of Moron Mormon Romney and his hardcore socialists.

That is 9 votes that will not go to Radical Romney, but since they are on the dead roll, they shall be voting Democrat from their graves.
