Where do you go get a grant when an officer is in a Florida prison and your police chief is in a grave?
That’s going to get very expensive for that small town.
My guess is that they don’t have Officer Whacks the Police Chief Insurance.

Miller is survived by his wife and three children. So terribly sad.

Key West to Pensacola is almost as far as Pensacola to Chicago.
Typical small town Oklahoma. No money for what they need, place falling apart. Notice the concrete block wall bleed through. Really a classy office no?
To bad his life went south. Police chief in Mannford, Oklahoma is not a career to aspire to.
Well the area has a lot of problems, with the criminal elements infiltrating law enforcement and law enforcement becoming corrupt.
I used to live on the back side of lake Keystone between Mannford and Cleveland.
The area is in a scrub hills part of the oil patch, with rugged terrain and shifting rocky so that makes for roads that wash out or collapse into sink holes.
They make the big fire breakes in a perimeter arround the hilly ground and many years the land burns and power is out for a large portion of the area in the dry of summer and in wi ter snowfall because its too hard to get vehicles in and out. The fire departments had surplus military Gamma Goats for a while that did better, but really the practice of preparing the big fire breaks on the flat ground makes more sense than trying to get in and save the hillsides.
So, these hilly areas have cheap real estate that draws meth heads like desert rock piles draw rattlesnakes.
Then on the lake there are all these lake houses that sit empty much of the year and those attract burglars.
Mannford is mostly known for being one of the little speed trap towns between Tulsa and Stillwater.
No telling what they were fighting about.
It could have been over a girl, some issue with promotions...or even just two drunk guys wrestling and an accidental death. I spent half an hour trying to find more information and theres nothing yet.
That was WKRP in Cincinnati.....
While trying to find pictures of these two I end up stumbling on and reading about some of the crimes in the greater Mannford area. Sheesh!
