When I was in Seminary in the ‘60s, our musical gospel team traveled to a church in another state. We were in Sunday School and the teacher asked if anyone knew the name of the king Daniel served. Many years ago, our church pastor did a series on the recognizing sin in one’s self. Nebuchadnezzar’s sin was pride but he was blind to his pride and had to be humbled before God. He was blind because in his arrogance, Nebuchadnezzar assumed that it was HIS doing. That Babalon was HIS kingdome that He built. There was no room for any other authority. It was all under his control.
I still remember those lessons and can simply what our pastor taught to a simple phrase - control is an illusion.
I have kept that lesson in my heart and I have tried to listen to the warning of that simple phrase. To learn this lesson, I recommend to others that they start with a list of what they know that they dont have control over.
