When I first read it, I was under the impression that the daughter had become the new father. We live in strange times when news stories make Robert Heinlein 's All You Zombies look straightforward.

Ronald Reagan held the opposite view and said that without women there would be no civilization.

I think they're both right. Civilization needs women fulfilling their roles AS women in order to survive. Civilization needs women operating as wives and mothers and the cohesive element which bind social groups together.

Civilization does NOT need women operating in men's roles. Up until the last 60 years or so, Western Civilization got along just fine without women in traditionally male occupations.

But what has happened, is that as more women decide to get into "careers", the white middle-class birth rate has plummeted. The marriage rate has plummeted. Where is the next generation going to come from?
