I know this experience is anecdotal but I also have a number of friends in their late 60s, early 70s who loved to run in their earlier years who now are having knee and hip replacements. Exercise is important but one has to temper it with the stress and strain on the body. Like anything, excess is not a good thing.
Had a neighbor who bicycled daily 20 miles every morning one m9rning didnt come back 36 years old massive heart attack dead!!! It is quite amazing these people with stellar healthy habits end up dead of heart attacks or strokes!!!!
