When I had a spontaneous carotid artery dissection at age 50, they did a bunch of tests at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. An incidental finding was that I had an arterioventricular malformation (AVM) in my brain. Apparently autopsies have shown that about 5% of ppl have an AVM and dont know it because theyre asymptomatic. Good to know, I guess, but not much I can do about it. If I was symptomatic I would get it clipped off, but since the procedure can go awry, I could end up with brain damage. Of course, then Id be a liberal, so...no thanks. 🤣

Smart choice
I get echocardiogram annually now and they always do the carotids too
Of course you can have fairly clear carotid and a big clot come through and zap...
