The Carolina Panthers have fired head coach Ron Rivera, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Secondary coach Perry Fewell will serve as interim head coach, and offensive coordinator Norv Turner will transition to special assistant to the head coach.
Quarterbacks coach Scott Turner, Norv’s son, becomes offensive coordinator.

As a Charlotte local, this was long time coming.
Cam has been an absolute wreck. He can’t produce, he’s always injured, and he’s 90% hype and 10% talent. Grab Dabo and offer him $100mil for 10 years and see what he says.
It’s not Ron’s fault that his spoiled brat QB decided to go “vegan” last year and wrecked his body.
Norv Turner is there? Nice to see he landed on his feet after his tough head coaching jobs .
And yet Jason Garrett still has a job.

Jerry Jones ALWAYS fires the wrong people.
The Panthers have a lot of problems beside Rivera. They need a QB, DB’s, and to rebuild both interior lines, which were awful this year. Good luck with that.
Both Quinn and Rivera have Super Bowl appearances that they should have won. The Falcons' breakdown was much more a coaching deal than the Pathers' loss IMO.
Anyway, as a lifelong Falcons fan, I would take Rivera in an instant.
He showed his character rolling on the ground in the Super Bowl and pulling back from the fumble. Not qualities of a leader.
It’s sad that McKafferty shows off all his talents for a losing program. RB’s have a short shelf life.

Yup...bet he appears in Chicago next year as the Bears QB.
At 5 and 7 it appears to be to late to tank for Burrows. They are tied with 3 other teams to be the 12th worst NFL team.
The Bengals need to make sure they don’t screw up thier last place finish. They have the Giants nipping at their tail.
