NAS Pensacola is on lockdown right now because of a reported active shooter on the base. Authorities say please stay away.

The US sailor who shot up the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard used his service weapon in the suicidal attack, according to reports.
Petty Officer Gabriel Romero, 22, used his M4 service rifle Wednesday in a shooting spree that left two civilian Defense Department employees dead and a third wounded, according to a preliminary incident report.
He then turned his M9 service pistol on himself, the report said.
Authorities found Romero “deceased at the scene with a self-inflicted [gunshot] wound to the head,” according to the report.
Sources identified Romero as the shooter to Hawaii News Now, which also reported that he recently was compelled to enroll in anger-management courses.
Romero was a crew member aboard the submarine USS Columbia, which was drydocked at the shipyard for maintenance. Fox News reported that he likely opened fire while standing watch near the quarterdeck, the entry point to the sub from the pier.
One of the slain victims was identified by his wife as Vincent Kapoi Jr., 30., The Associated Press reported.
The U.S. Navy confirms one person is dead in addition to the shooter.

I am retired and was actively in and out of Pensacola many times, my children go to college there.
So, this hurts my heart and causes me to worry.
However, the shooter in Hawaii, dead. The shooter in Pensacola, dead. The knifer in London, dead.
A few more of these and maybe some not yet active killers will decide to show their anger in a another way.
Yes, I know some are suicides, but hey, the miscreant is before God, let Him decide. This will cause others to think twice.

What I am wondering as a Navy Vet who has spent time at Pensacola NAS:
Why weren’t NAS Pensacola’s own armed Security Forces the first to engage the shooter?
Why did the victims have to wait for Local LEO’s to respond when NAS Pensacola’s own Security Forces would have been much closer?
It is now being reported that the shooter was a Saudi national who was an Aviation student at NAS Pensacola.
