1st drivere mis-spoke New International Version (NIV) not NVI
but you are incorrect

clip from 2005 Officially “undetermined” by Snopes.
But reportedly, the guy worked for the Jack in the Box chain, was late for some meeting, and the accident happened in front of him, as he was calling in to say he would be late.
Reportedly someone at Jack in the Box corporate went on the record, saying the message was real, that the voice mail recording got passed around. The message got outside the corporate chain, pops up from time to time, and Jack in the Box gets called to verify.
they said the company he worked at, Jack in the Box said their system had crashed for a while as it was passed around to everyone there to listen to it so many times! LOL

It is said he’s a Jack in the Box manager who was on his way to Store # 3768 in Denton, TX, a suburb of Dallas. You can see the restaurant on Google Maps Street View...not sure where the accident was.

But, the store should have a commemorative plaque. :)

I also visited Scopes, a break from my usual boycott of that dishonest lying left-wing website. I remain skeptical and these urban legends always manage to accrete all of the supposed corroborating details cited in this case as time goes on.

My very first impression was that it was staged and that someone was reading from a script. Pure acting, especially the laugh. That was not a spontaneous and unrehearsed recording as one hears in the typical voicemail.
