Don’t know much about this kid except that he’s had a helluva season, but it sounds like he might have a pretty good heart too.
You get within 20 miles of the river and you’re basically in Appalachia. Which is why Cinicinatti is known as “the largest city in Kentucky”
I live in Silicon Valley, and I worked in Athens Ohio for over a year. My daughter was going to college in Ohio at the same time.
When we came home for the holidays, and people commented how they were poor, the two of us would look each other in the eye and say, There is [California] poor, and then theres Ohio poor. Were talking about an old mobile home at the end of a dirt driveway just off the highway at the edge of the field and bordering some thicket.
Good for him. He sounds mature and selfless. And he has a millisecond throw release.
Google his speech. It will make you so happy that he won. He’s an awesome young man.
Right up there with Tebow, in my book.
His Heisman speech was really incredible. He had a very hard time getting through it b/c he was so full of emotion. He, incredibly, thanked his offensive line first- before coaches, parents, etc. He is an extremely talented QB who I hope will be successful in the pros. I can see him as a role model kids can admire b/c of his work ethic and his big heart.
Burrow is practicing a basic tenet that we all should remember: Never, ever forget where you came from.
The vast majority of us arose from humble beginnings, me included. Don’t forget how you did without. Don’t forget your embarrassments, struggles and disappointments. Don’t forget the important virtuous values you learned as a child or the never-ending love for family and friends. Don’t forget your faith that taught you concern and love for your fellow man. And don’t forget people you grew up around that nurtured and supported you as you grew to adulthood. Hold on to those memories and values, NOT those pushed by the media, the Marxists and leftists who want you to exchange the truth for the lies they are peddling.
Joe Burrow, I tip my hat to you young man!!!! You have the influence to make this a better world!!!
Is he a Senior?
If he goes pro, let’s hope all the sjw prima donnas don’t ruin the kid.
For whatever it may be worth, I’m impressed.
Reckon I’ll be an LSU fan the rest of the year :-)
I hope LSU wins. Gotta love Coach O.
But next year, it’s our turn!
Grad student.
The trouble with charities is that they eat the chicken.
In other words most of the money will be used to hire people to distribute the money. So th majority of the funds will go for salaries.
If you have some chickens build a chicken house (jobs) and gather the eggs which results in long term benefits.
This is how you protest an injustice in your life, you rise above it and show others the way out. What an inspiration,, the NFL may have hope yet with the likes of these fine youth athletes on the rise. American Cream!
Two examples of the above. Years ago I managed a store. The guberment came in to place poor kids on the payroll for 4 hrs a week. The kids were paid 2.45 and hour or about $10 a week. The oversight lady had a Federal wage of $53,000 plus. She “managed” 5 kids. So distributing $50 a week to poor kids cost us over $1000 a week in her wages.
I no longer give to Red Cross as it was stated 83% of donations go towards salaries o Red Cross personal.
