VP appointments have to be confirmed by both senate and house.

So, no, Pence couldn’t just appoint a new VP. That would most likely get held up and obstructed until *after* Pence’s removal.

Fair point. If he was to be obstructed from appointing a VP while they try to impeach him (for what, I wonder?) I think the Supremes would almost have to step in.

Not to mention the next election would be a bloodbath.
