No.

All diets are set up to be failures so you keep coming back. Want to know how to lose weight, burn more calories than you consume.

I burn 10,000 calories per month at Orange Theory. I eat a balanced, reasonable Italian diet. I drink tons of wine and Negroni’s.

With OTF I’ve gained muscle, lost fat, lost inches on my waist and dropped 8 pounds since 9/1.

Do it! Invest in yourself this year.

Though I am with you on this, your comment reminds me of something I like to say about family budget: Want to know how to stay financially healthy? Spend less money than you make.

Though that is true, if you earn your living flipping burgers it may not be possible, or you may want to live nicer than you do, so you need to make more money.

The analogy is a thin one, but the point is that there is more to it than just losing weight. It is also about being healthy. Yes, I know that you already know that, but I just want to emphasize it. I can cut myself down to 1400 calories a day and I’m going to lose weight. But if it’s all in Coke and Doritos, I’m not going to be very healthy.

I lost a lot of weight a couple of decades ago. My “go to” foods on that diet were oat bran, meat, spinach and potatoes. I didn’t touch anything bread-like until the diet was over and even then was very careful about portions. Personally, I think an all meat and vegetable diet is the most winning diet a person can have, but I have to have my bread from time to time. I love the stuff.

LOVE me some OT!!!!!

It's the only exercise I've ever actually enjoyed and looked forward to.

Want to know how to lose weight, burn more calories than you consume.

You have a profound misunderstanding of the HFMPLC [High Fat Medium Protein Low Carbohydrate] way of eating [NOT a diet].

You "Eat The Fat" because fat suppresses the hunger reaction. When you eat carbohydrates, your blood sugar levels do a "sine wave" thing.

The sine-wave thing explains the empty feeling/hunger pangs after not eating for long enough. Then, it's time to binge on carbs again.

Eating fat flat-lines the blood sugar levels. No spikes.

You eat medium protein because eating too much protein will cause your body to store the excess as fat, very similar to carb ingestion.

The "burn more calories than you consume" dogma is not helpful to more than a handful of people in this age of accessible food everywhere.

Tangled....maybe you should start an OT thread and walk past/not disparage Keto, or other diet threads, that you don’t support.

Happy New Year.
