There was a very noticeable uptick in the economy starting in the Fall of 2017. It has been roaring ahead ever since. It was just about impossible to find a job in the location and field I work in until the last year or two of Hussein’s second term. Even then, the pay rate was LESS in actual dollars than what I was making in 2006 - a decade earlier. Nevermind inflation. My income has increased 1/3 in the last two and a half years and speaking to my colleagues, that’s typical.
Early on in the Trump administration, all four of my kids changed jobs in about a two month period.
Their total increase in pay was about $80,000.
To be fair, one was fresh out of college and another went from part time to full time career type job but they all had significant increases.
One is struggling a bit right now. He started a new job two months ago and the company, a multi-family homebuilder that is horribly managed just went bankrupt.
He drives tractor trailer rigs and is still employed while picking up their equipment at several jobsites. Trucker jobs aren’t easy to get when you’re under 21. (DOT rules say the driver must stay in state) This job has given him some great on the road experience though.
