exactly right...
Too many people remember the Cowboys being “America’s Team” for so long. It got to be repetitive after a while...especially since Texas is NOT the totality of America. (Sorry Texans..)
As for today, I think the season ends at Lambeau for my ‘Hawks. As much as I’d love to see a repeat showdown against SanFran at Santa Clara...I’m thinkin’ it’s not gonna happen.
Can’t wait for Feb. 8th.
Go Dragons! #BreathingFire #XFL
Or as Bum Phillips said, "The Cowboys may be America's Team, but the Oilers are Texas' team."
I understand somewhat now. I am not a Texan but I do love the state - have been there many times and almost moved there once. I’ve been to all but 4 states in the Union and can say there’s something to love about each one.
I will take the Current Texans over the Former Texans in the upset.
Stefanski to Cleveland!
Ha, right on.
Jackson is a “Flash in the Pan”.
Teams have all off-season to look at the film and figure out how to neutralize him next season.
Meanwhile, traditional passing QBs, like Aaron Rodgers just keep chugging on.
Others have kinda explained it. I was born and bred in Boston and married to NJ. I like North over South and East over West with some exceptions. Denver has family and some of the NW states are special. But when that term America’s Team started, it was a WHAT???? Not fair of me to lump other Texas teams in with it, I know.
First time I’ve seen a little pout in Lamar Jackson.
It’s not on Cam Newton’s level, but it was certainly there last night
See, I’ve never agreed with the “America’s Team” label either - I’ve always chalked it up to media sycophants. I’ve always been a Steelers fan myself and can justify it by knowing how widespread their fanbase is - any town they go to there’s always a large contingent of fans at the stadium (Baltimore possibly an exception cuz they’re all thugs down there) and at least one or two Steeelers bars in town.
New Texans whupping the Old Texans.
I never think of those in Baltimore as thugs, but I do to fans of the Phillies or Eagles in Philadelphia. Win or lose, store windows are broken and cars are overturned!
Funny you should mention Philthadelphia, I was born there - and I agree. That and the former Oakland Raiders fan base are renown for their thuggery.
