For the first time since 2002, the Tennessee Titans are heading to the AFC Championship. Mike Vrabel's team finds themselves on the doorstep of a Super Bowl berth after stunning the No. 1 seeded Baltimore Ravens, 28-12.
Tennessee carried the momentum from their Wild Card upset of the Patriots into Baltimore and essentially had this victory secure from the jump going on a 14-0 run to start the game. They were able to get on the board first after Tennessee safety Kevin Byard picked off a tipped pass from Lamar Jackson, one of his three turnovers on the night. Ryan Tannehill, who completed half of his throws for 88 yards and two touchdowns, and company took the ball 35 yards down the field and ended with a tremendous touchdown grab by tight end Jonnu Smith. After stopping Baltimore on a fourth-and-1 attempt on their next offensive possession, Tannehill came back onto the field and immediately completed a 45-yard touchdown pass to receiver Kalif Raymond.
While the Ravens were able to put up a couple of field goals before halftime and had some momentum heading into the locker room at the break, the Titans were able to go on a back-breaking third-quarter run that pressed their lead over 20 points and essentially put the game out of reach. A large part of that is thanks to running back Derrick Henry, who rushed for 195 yards and he even passed for a touchdown.

I really expected to see the ravens in the Super Bowl
Novelty QBs usually fail in the playoffs.
Tennessee, Tennessee- there aint no place Id rather be.
Baby wont you carry me-back to Tennessee.
So now we have three teams with a Texan connection left in the AFC: Tennessee Titans (nee’ Houston Oilers), Kansas City Chiefs (nee’ Dallas Texans), and the Houston Texans.
At least the Dallas Cowboys aren’t in the playoffs.
Yeah baby!!!...go Titans!!!
This is why the games are played
Its not predictable
Vrabel. A former stellar linebacker for Bellickek. Now leads the Titans
He beat them in foxboro now Balt there
Titans are for REAL.
A Houston-Tennessee AFC Championship Game would be very interesting.
:)
They sure made me a believer.
They play the game the way it should be played. None of this video game like stuff.
Whatever team is not Texan, is the team Ill root for. Real sorry about the Ravens. Sigh.
I love it
Congrats, Titans.
You cashed in on two quick turnovers and got into Lamar Jackson’s head. It turns out he’s been obsessed about last year’s playoff loss and now has a second one to obsess over. Once the mistakes started, you could see first frustration, then anger then outright choking. It was masterful.
Tomorrow’s winner gets to host the AFC Championship Game. KC hasn’t been to a Super Bowl since 1969, Texans haven’t been to a Super Bowl ever and neither did the Oilers when they were there.
All of the teams who were in the past 4 SB have been eliminated. We will have something new this year.
I think everyone did
It was great fun to see that spoiled overrated brat Lamar Jackson throw constant tantrums on the filed and sideline. Perfect prick for the worst city in America.
Titans QB Ryan Tannehill is from Lubbock, Texas, and played at A&M.
Ravens should draft a quarterback. Running qbs are losers. Jackson will be blown out in two years.
Yep, just look at his teammate, RGIII, another flash in the pan.
exactly...seen it all before...Vince Young..RG 3...Vick etc....Titans just made that pass the ball... He had 60 attempts, and they were never in the game. Another fraud.
