I consider the $15/hr wage mandate a government tax. It is exactly that. Workers that retain their jobs at the higher minimum wage will feel beholden to the city government. Those that lose those jobs will likely leave the city. Of course there's a third category of worker that doesn't get much Press... the workers that still have jobs but get their hours slashed. They are very, very unhappy.

If we didnt have a minimum wage, I bet some companies would give 50 cents an hour. You know thats true. Heck they bulk at 8 bucks. You know theyd try to go as low as they could.
