I saw a coyote in my driveway today for the first time in a long long time. If he hangs around I’ll have to change his mind about that.

Out on mountains at dusk often and it’s a WEIRD CACAPHONY
OUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! And baby sounding whelps
A coyote almost ran into me in a driveway, Lake Tahoe.
It was dusk, and he was trotting down the street, head down looking for food scraps. Made a turn up the driveway and almost slammed into me. I yelled as he got a few feet way, and he did a u-turn. About a foot away as I backed up.
Outside Seattle. 2 weeks ago I was walking my dog (a 9lb Shih Tzu) and when I turned around, 2 full grown male Coyotes were tracking us about 50 feet back. I have a headlamp and shined it in the eyes of the more aggressive one, and he finally turned and left. This morning I walked out on the deck and there was a full grown bobcat in the neighbors yard watching me. When I take the dog out at night, I always prepare myself mentally for the prospect of a fight with nature.
