Why are you focusing on the gram equivalent of "ounce"?

The coin weighs 1/500 of an ounce. The price of gold is appr. $1500/ounce.

Hence, the price of 1/500 ounce of gold is $1500/500 = $3.

Yep, you're right. I was using .63 grams instead of .063.
Misread the first time thru and got stuck on it. Sorry.

Thanks Olog-hai. This reminds me of ancient coins, which had the head of medusa (if memory serves) sticking out her tongue. They were silver coins.

So, a coin denominated at $0.26 is actually worth about $3.00 and is being sold for $200. Gotta hand it to governments to build value!

If this works we can try the same thing - - tackle the national debt with tiny coins. Maybe sell some to the Swiss...
