Infectious Disease - Wuhan (covid-9) and other flu

grey_whiskers
Your post #1202 presents the most accurate description of the damage covid-9 (Wuhan virus) does to the human body.

The damage done to the human body follows,as noted by 9 autopsies, below:
"Autopsies show severe damage to COVID-19 patients' lungs and immune system, .. who called for measures to prevent fibrosis of the lungs at an early stage of the disease."

"The influence of COVID-19 on the human body is like a combination of SARS and AIDS as it damages both the lungs and immune systems,"
Peng Zhiyong, director of the intensive care unit of the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University in Wuhan,..."

"Peng said he had just talked to Liu Liang, a forensic specialist from the Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Liu's team has reportedly conducted nine autopsies on deceased COVID-19 patients as of February 24."

"The autopsy results Liu shared based on the results, I think the most important thing now is to take measures at an early stage of the disease to protect patients' lungs from irreversible fibrosis," Peng noted."

"If irreversible damage is done, other measures, like those to prevent patients from oxygen deficit, will not be of much use, he said."

Conclusion :
The Virus affects most severely, the very young (with undeveloped immune systems), and the elderly (aged 70's +,who already have other contributing medical issues).
Smoking and other pulmonary issues (such as asthma, lung infections, bacterial or fungal, or fibrosis, etc.) affect survival rates.
The earlier that detection of the virus or its effects, occurs, the higher the survival rate.
Protect and develop foods and vitamins which will strengthen your immune system (homeopathic and home made medications).
Wearing an N-95 mask for regular use is not recommended by CDC, as current supplies are needed for professional healthcare workers.
Manufacturers of N-95 masks are increasing national production to respond to the demand.
If ill with an influenza, notify your immediate family and also your physician by phone, and follow instructions.

Prevention cannot be overstated : routine effective washing of hands for 20 seconds, avoid touching face, eyes, nose or other mucous membranes, avoid large groups.
If sick, remain in your house and self-quarantine, household remedies and over the counter medications should be used for the flu.
Use bleach, hand wipes and other health aids routinely around the home, especially in high trafficked areas to prevent bacterial and viral spread.
Do not panic, think logically and with forethought towards minimizing contacts with folks who might possibly, and unknowingly be ill.
Schedule food and medication shopping at "off hours" rather than with the herd.

Could be heading home or could be a forced quarantine.

The video shows them at the door of the local In-N-Out burger.

If I get quarantined that's where I want to be "forced" to stay...

Does anyone happen to know what those measures would be?

Asking for a friend...

The stuff lives on hard surfaces for DAYS... What do you do when you get home with your food?

What do you do when you get home with your food?

Virus viability is controlled by type of surface, air temperature, and ambient humidity.
Absorbent fabric will shorten viral viability; virus lives longer on hard surfaces (clothe sneakers recommended)
Leave your outdoor shoes out in the foyer, or in the front hallway (don't track contaminants into the living space).
Go wash your hands with soap and water (good hygiene practice, which becomes habit).
Bring the foodstuffs into the residence, and wipe down canned goods with bleach or an anti-bacterial wipe (minimize risk) or the cardboard container.
Bagged vegetables should be washed individually in the sink, and left on paper towel to dry (dry shortens the virus viability).
If shopping before the herd arrives, the only possible vectors will probably be the over-night help who do the re-stocking (minimizing possible exposure).
Good consistent hygiene develops good habits, which also minimizes bacterial infection.

Thanks for some nice suggestions.

Here’s one for you.

I open my mailbox, give the mail a quick spray of disinfectant then close it up... an hour later I get my mail... Someone here said that was one of the way the 1918 flu spread.

Another quick thought..
When shopping note whether your cashier , or the customer in front of you has sniffles or a cough.
If so, choose another line in order to cash out because any cash you receive, as change, may be contaminated by either of them.
Consider using a credit card for transactions, since cards are only scanned by the electronic reader when slid through (minimizing possible contamination).
If surrounded by possible bacterial or viral contamination, you have to develop healthy habits.
