Yep.
Given the neighborhood..it is good possibility that the people are renters or don’t have that kind of money. It would be up to homeowners insurance to pay.
i don’t fault the Postal guy...and the guy with the truck is nuts to think a dude running for his life is going to think about all of his options. He is in flight mode.
It gives me some sympathy (which I dont normally have for the PO) for postal carriers.
My dad was a letter carrier in the 80s. Heard a lot of stories about dogs. He mostly delivered to mail boxes but this on house had a pit-bull that would try to get at him on a regular basis. He would crack the door on his jeep and blast the dog in the face with what he was issued and trained to use in those circumstances. The label said “HALT” spray, what we would consider mace or pepper spray probably. Anyway, he would spray the dog and have enough time to deposit the mail in the box, by the time he got to the next mailbox the dog was back again and he’d have to spray him again. That breed can be relentless. Don’t blame the mailman in this case, the animals owner does not control his animals properly IMO. Also, IIRC the post office reserves the right not to deliver mail if the carrier is in danger, leaving it up to the mail recipient to pick up mail at the distribution hub.
