There should be national crime base that can identify those with previous convictions. When they committed a new crime the sentence should be doubled and then doubled for each subsequent offense.

The Wetsuween people and the band counsel have already approved this pipeline. It is big US oil companies that are paying for these protests as they have for decades to prevent Canadian oil and gas from being exported from the west coast of Canada. It is economic terrorism. Canada loses $100 million a day because all its oil is exported only through US and they get a fraction of what they could from world oil prices.
The Liberal government is also getting payola to prevent Canadian oil exports.
Meanwhile Canadian oil is transported by rail which is far more dangerous with greater catastrophic environmental accidents.
