The XFL regular season is over, but the XFL isn’t gone.
The upstart league released a statement confirming that it will suspend its season, as virtually all American sports organizations have in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. But the XFL also said it will return next year.
“Currently, the XFL will not be playing its regular season games,” the league’s statement said. “However, all players will be paid their base pay and benefits for the 2020 regular season. All XFL ticket holders will be issued refunds or credit towards future games. The XFL is committed to playing a full season in 2021 and future years.”

Maybe, but if the death counts end up lower than expected with COVID-19, people in charge are going to claim credit for keeping the numbers low. Imagine doing similar with any other flu.
This is really messed up on how people are reacting.
The mortality rate is at the LEAST 10x higher than the flu.
Am I terrified? No. It’s still FAR from the mortality rates of ebola and other viruses.
But if it were to spread like the flu there would be a tremendous number of deaths.
It’s worth stopping early.
The economy will rock back in no time once this thing passes and Trump can claim victory in having stopped it in its tracks.

Going down? No, I don’t mean to suggest that at all.
Actually they’ve been playing pretty good defense, but not playing up to expectations at the QB position - and then the guy gets hurt and the backups aren’t the right guys to run Mumme’s offense.
So Bob Stoops will be fine. He’s a decent guy and we know he’s looking at the bigger picture.
Looks to me like he doesn’t have a lot of choice, go back to the mansion in Norman and live life without football for awhile.
Tough deal for him with all that money and being married to a top Mary K. Exec who’s wealthy in her own right.

My daughter who is teacher in a nearby town south of Boston called me tonight and told me they were closing down the school starting tomorrow , and all of next week. Stay home.
I asked her if she would go to breakfast this weekend with me and her mother as she usually does, and she gave me a lecture on how I should be staying home because of my age and pre-existing conditions.
Earlier a woman friend dropped by, and told how at the local supermarket for the first time, it was packed with people buying up ,and emptying some of the shelves.
My town, Scituate MA, the most Irish town in America, has cancelled the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
So the corona virus panic is now starting here just south of Boston.-Tom
I guess I won’t be watching those races on tv. Screw them for joining the hysteria.
