they were attacked by aliens who raced towards their farmhouse and needed to hold them back using firearms...

They mastered interstellar space flight but were held off by guns?

Since they “attacked”, that means they weren’t a peaceful people and so their weaponry would have evolved into something utterly brutal compared to ours.

Still, it could have happened.

Reminds me of the time I fought off bigfoot with nothing but a plastic fork.

I snapped this picture in my back yard just last week. If you think I’m scared, you’re right.

NOT mentioned was THE FOUKE MONSTER of Arkansas.
(The Fouke Monster was killed by a state trooper in 1967. - According to his autopsy, its DNA was “similar to but not exactly the same as a bear’s DNA”.)
OR
THE HELL HOUND of Appalachia.
OR
THE JERSEY DEVIL
AND
numerous other mysteries/oddities.

When I was in college in Arkansas, I actually saw the shoes of The Arkansas Giant, who was said in THE ARKANSAS GAZETTE to have been over 8.5 feet tall. & over 400#. = His shoes were 24 inches or more long & were on display in a clothing store window in Arkadelphia, AR.- unfortunately, I had no way to measure the shoes’ length.
(”Buddy” died of a presumed heart attack at about age 30 in 1926.= His grave is in Kirby, Arkansas.)

Yours, TMN78247

I recall seeing an old (late 1800s-early 1900s) photo of a hunter posing with a Sasquatch/Bigfoot hanging by its feet. I searched it and found one similar but not the one I remember. The face is not visible.
