The potential flaw in your logic is that you as a full time resident (as well as the other full time residents) vote for the local government that sets the tax rates. We all know that there isn’t anything greedier or more rapacious than government, but if the taxes go through the roof then the locals are far more to blame than the part time residents.

Example -

Washington State

Huge population (liberal) on the west side votes in big property taxes. Many are renters and do not directly see these taxes.

Small population (conservative) on the east side does not vote for these taxes.
Meanwhile, the east side grows all the food for the west side. East side has rural setting that the west side invades for recreation. PS the invaders try to turn the east side into the culture that they are escaping from.

You are either deliberately or accidentally conflating local taxes with state taxes. You were talking about property taxes going up so that locals can’t afford them. Property taxes are set at the county level so that the renters in Seattle have no input to the property tax rate in Eastern Washington. I really hate it when someone dishonestly puts forth a bogus argument. I hope you just didn’t make the connection with real estate taxes being being strictly local

I didn’t call you dishonest although there are plenty of jackasses on FR who will knowingly advance a spurious argument to try and score some sort of points. You were just wrong. You do know that real estate taxes are set at the county level and part time residents have no say in who sets them
