(BIG) If you can get some 70% alcohol, a small spray bottle (travel size hair spray bottle works well) and some Tea tree oil it works well as a sanitizer. We bought some 3 oz. Clorox spray sanitizers a few weeks back which were getting low. The ingredients on the bottle show 70% alcohol and skin emollients. That is were the Tea tree oil comes in. We just made our own refills. You don’t need much Tea tree oil we used just 4 drops per 3oz bottle.

They say that older people can’t hear high-pitched sounds. That’s nonsense; I hear high-pitched sound ALL THE TIME. Mostly it doesn’t bother me too much.

Very similar to a DIY granite counter cleaner I make that won’t eat your stone counter top & it does save buckets of money over time:

1.5 cups water
0.5 cup Isopropyl alcohol (70% is fine)
1/4 tsp dish detergent (I use Dawn)

Put it all in a spray bottle & use it to clean counters.

Sounds like a lot of work.

I just grab some Dawn, get the water hot coming out of the faucet, squirt some in my hand and wash.

Wife unit is waiting with towel. Job done

Sounds about right, but I forgot to mention that I sometimes have replaced some of the water with Hydrogen peroxide, and more research shows that is highly effective (in a 3% solution) against Covid-19:

Hydrogen peroxide is typically sold in concentrations of about 3%. It can be used as is, or diluted to 0.5% concentration for effective use against coronaviruses on surfaces. It should be left on surfaces for one minute before wiping. - https://www.rutgers.edu/news/best-ways-kill-coronavirus-your-home

The analysis of 22 studies reveals that human coronaviruses such as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) coronavirus, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus or endemic human coronaviruses (HCoV) can persist on inanimate surfaces like metal, glass or plastic for up to 9 days, but can be efficiently inactivated by surface disinfection procedures with 62–71% ethanol, 0.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite within 1 minute. Other biocidal agents such as 0.05–0.2% benzalkonium chloride or 0.02% chlorhexidine digluconate are less effective. - https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(20)30046-3/fulltext

I took a little liberty in the public interest of adding some color and making boundary lines visible in the table from https://www.journalofhospitalinfection.com/article/S0195-6701(20)30046-3/fulltext

That is fine, but taking a little time to mix the solution and improve it saves time in the long run. A 300ml foaming pump container will last quite a while and lathers quickly, already having some air in it. And requires no grabbing bottle and opening it. Just push the pump and you are ready to wash.

But for auto grease, the best I have found is Fast Orange with pumice, into which container I mix some Dawn, which makes it work faster. Just rinse well with hot water.

I've also learned that the virus can live for up to seventeen days on an inanimate surface. So the package of bread I bring home, I either have to wash it, with soap, for twenty seconds, or quarantine it in my basement for seventeen days. Otherwise, when I open the wrapper, and reach in and touch a piece of bread.......

That is unnecessary. See post #28 . You could just fill a spray bottle with 3% hydrogen peroxide (same as water, just 2 oxygen molecules to one hydrogen) and spray the wrapper well, or dumb the bread into zip-lock bag.

Note that you should put the detergent in last, unless you like auto-foaming dispensing:)
