But it doesn’t address the unemployment issue or the independent business owner issue.

Is it Taxable?

Trump’s business(s) are barred from receiving any benefits?

It so , ? ….. then keep it. I don’t want it.

Trump is American as anyone else, if he’s being barred then they can keep it!

Not sure why folks on social security are getting $1200 stimulus checks when they have been the least disadvantaged economically by the corona crisis. This is an economic crisis for those who have been unemployed from the crisis and businesses and it would seem that money is better served going to those who are going to need it rather than currying favor with different interest groups and the AARP lobby

Excerpt...

What about people on social security and disability?

Good news. People on Social Security, retirees and people receiving disability payments are eligible to receive the coronavirus relief payment provided their total income does not exceed the limits given above.

According to the Washington Post, low-income Americans on Social Security do not need to file a tax return. As long as they received an SSA-1099 form (the Social Security benefit statement), the government will send them a payment via the usual way they get their Social Security payment.

Imagine the Bush-Obama Administration had just sent us trillions in cash instead of wasting $5.5 trillion on “wars” in Iraq and Afghanistan that accomplished nothing.

I know how much I'll receive, $0.

I'm not one of the "special" groups that's constantly targeted for handouts every time some crisis comes along. This bill is basically just more welfare and pork piled on top of the almost limitless welfare and pork we have already. It's just more income redistribution from those that actually pay taxes to those that don't.

I am not running a local small business nor an employee of one, and literally no one’s employee. My income is various retirement incomes and I could take a hit on one of them due to the stock market’s performance. That might be a long term hit or a temporary one depending on how the markets change down the road.

In any case I am thinking that many will need the “stimulus” check much more than I will. Trying to decide what to do with it. If I could save one small favorite local business from closing - if that were possible - I would. I doubt my “stimulus” check can do that.
