Still around for now - Lawry’s The Prime Rib in the Hughes Center is offering curbside pickup at 20 percent off from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays.

Yes, in fact I was at the Caraluzzi's in Bethel, CT early this morning. It was fairly crowded but with employees stocking shelves. Was able to get all the essentials, even TP and paper towels were on the shelf but they were limiting purchases to one package each - which is reasonable. I have enough of that stuff now to last me through the summer to I think I'm going to let the others have a crack at it.

The meat shelves were full as well - they were cleaned out in previous weeks due to everybody eating at home all of a sudden.

Also should note that the produce section is and always has been jam-packed. People should eat more fresh produce during these times! I got some strawberries, blackberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, celery, broccoli, brussel sprouts and a few bags of salad mix.

Fido & Jane

Excellent points! Any human contact surface is a source of nastiness in these times. China Flu or not, any lever or knob in a bathroom has always been a source for germs, which is why I like the touchless rest facilities at places like Walmart.

We live in the middle of nowhere, which in times like this is a good thing. Our travels are not for business. When our Subaru needs work, there are only two dealers in the state, both 200 miles away. Major shopping & doctors are 100 miles away. To do just about anything requires hours of driving. This has never been a complaint. If we did not like this lifestyle we’d move to SF, NYC or DC and be a part of the swamp.

I grilled up some burgers today.

Home grilled beats them all. I grilled up a couple of burgers packed with blue cheese crumbles and bacon. I had some port mushroom sauce left over from steak the previous night for a topping. Toasted ciabatta rolls all the way!

I cooked steaks Sous Vide today.....and some chicken.

Cheap steaks turn out better Sous Vide...

I can turn a $5 steak into a $20 steak.....
