Despite COVID-19 restrictions, pro-life sidewalk counselors continue to save lives. This past week in Radford, Virginia, Pastor Anthony Mathenia of Christ Church continued to lead a group of counselors in helping women and girls to reconsider abortion as they ministered outside abortion businesses. Upon adapting to social distancing guidelines, the group continued their operation and saw a joyful success as a teen decided not to abort her twin babies.
According to a report from Liberty Counsel, the teen at first slammed her car door in the counselor’s faces. Her mother, who drove her to the facility, took her to the other entrance, hoping to avoid the sidewalk counselors. However, as the teen left the car, she stopped and listened, and even prayed with a counselor who encouraged her to consider other options.
Instead of entering the abortion business, she and her mother drove away — but soon returned to ask for the church group’s help. The group gave her information about her other options and also encouraged her to visit the local pregnancy center for further help. The teen then told the group that she had received an ultrasound earlier in the week, revealing she was carrying twins. She was overwhelmed by the news and had intended to have an abortion, but because the sidewalk counselors were present, and showed her kindness and love, she decided to keep her twins.
Before continuing the sidewalk outreach, Mathenia sought the advice of Liberty Counsel in regards to the legal implications and special guidelines that should be followed to avoid being arrested as was previously witnessed in Greensboro, North Carolina, and in other locations over the past two weeks. Even in the darkest circumstances, speaking up and reaching out to those that need help can make a huge difference in the lives of others.
Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver noted, “Despite government restrictions, the church must continue to exercise religious freedom and minister to people.”

abortionists are not pro-choice and that mother probably pressured her into getting one.
