Of the 217 people tested aboard the Greg Mortimer cruise ship, 128 came back positive for COVID-19, while 89 tested negative, the Aurora Expeditions cruise line confirmed. The Australia-based company said all passengers and crew that have tested positive did not have fevers, and were asymptomatic as of Tuesday.
The Greg Mortimer, which is currently off the coast of Uruguay, departed on March 15 for a voyage to Antarctica and the island of South Georgia, but has been anchored off the coast near Montevideo since late March, after authorities in Uruguay blocked the ship from disembarking over coronavirus concerns, the Sydney Morning Herald reported last week. FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK FOR MORE FOX LIFESTYLE NEWS Since that time, local medical teams boarded the ship to conduct tests for COVID-19. By Monday, Aurora Expeditions said 81 of those onboard had tested positive, and 90 cases remained pending.snip
On Tuesday, the number of positive cases rose to 128. Since the beginning of April, six people have also been transferred to hospitals in Uruguay for further medical care, though Aurora Expeditions said all six people ashore are stable.

Unfortunately covid19 is carried by people and not geographical.-Tom
Oriental, NC is on my bucket list. Is that where you boat from?
I’d like to see a test of noncovid tested people taking a cruise. How many will end up having it?

Interesting.
Was in New England.

There are about 6 Americans onboard and their saga will begin. -Tom
I hope this causes the Australians to be more compassionate and caring than they were with the other cruise ships they refused to allow to dock in Australia.
Autralia is going to have a cruise ship problem mirroring ours, since so many cruise ships leave from Australia and have had many passengers come down with covid19. -tom
Quite a bit roomier than my girl, but she’s big enough for the two of us.

Australia refused to allow Princess ships to dock. Told them to go back where they came from. Karma’s a bitch.

It's not like the ship could keep a shoreline in sight until it reaches the next possible port.
Its all ya need, best to ya Captn
Pacific Seacraft are nice. We have a trawler that was built by them.
It certainly does.
One of the doctors who went onboard, speculated they picked up the covid19 virus in Ushuia, which is the southernmost city in the world, located in Tierra del Fuego, South America. -tom
Australia allowed the RUBY PRINCESS to dock in Sydney in mid March and let the passengers get off and go their way.
Right now the Australians are conducting a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION into the Ruby Princess and Carnival for possibly knowingly letting covid19 people loose into the general population.
It looks like the Autralians now don't trust Carnival line ships to be honest about the infections. -Tom
Australian authorities are refusing to allow almost a dozen foreign cruise ships to dock or repatriate 11,000 crew members in a bitter dispute that trade unions warn risks creating a humanitarian disaster.
Those aren’t all Princess ships.
There must be a lot of serial fornication happening on that ship!
Who will save the antarctic penguins from these perverts?
Both Australia and the USA face that problem.
As I put on another FR thread:
"This may not be the last cruise ship to arrive in South Florida during the coronavirus pandemic. The Coast Guard said there are still 41 cruise ships close to U.S. waters".
