The fact that you understand that the shutdown was a delay to keep the health organizations from overloading is exactly right. It delays. It does not eliminate.
Your remedy, ACQ and Zinc is also correct but I remain doubtful that we have the will and perhaps even the means to implement it in the sort term. But I would take the pills in heartbeat.

actually, i didn’t think i endorsed the shutdown one way or the other, but just pointed out what so-called public policy makers claimed ... probably lots of other things i wrote will be disagreed with, though ... and if folks here have good counter arguments that’s fine ... of course, most now just shoot off their mouths here with one liners these days ...
