It’s just the flu, bro.

It’s time for the tyranny to end. Let free people do as they please. Politicians need help/pressure so that they know what to do. They are a bunch of sheep and cowards. Really impressed with the protests we are seeing...I hope it makes a difference. I pictured protesting to be more the passion of the left but if you keep productive people from working they find the time to protest too. These protesters are helping us.

The numbers are full of lies - follow the money.

The small town I live near issued SiP order.

However, they have no police department to enforce and CSO and judge says they will not enforce this bs.

The city plans on using fire marshal and fire chief to enforce.

Think I will go take me a drive about in my open top CJ5

There seems to be a code word do the day for the fearpers. Yesterday. Sandwich and some other clown was having a conniption that how dare stories stay open an hour extra for frontline workers only. The attacks were disgusting. We are morphing into a land where two of the four elements of the first amendment are suspended. People are called privileges when the community helps us out. I was personally told to choose between bu daughter and my job that I knew what I was signing up for and that I should quote man up and stop whining.

The fearbros
DannyTn
sandwich
And I will get the third name after I post this

Are disgusting government loving dictator wannabes who would pour nails in driveways to prevent worship who would sell your freedoms af their whim. It is disgusting. And the premise behind their vitriol is disgusting.

An expert has set a forecast of 77,000 dead from stress- related disorders and suicides if it goes on much longer. This is three times the number supposedly dead from CV. And this model is not based on wild speculation, but historical data trends.

Use this model Mr. President, and end this ruse now. This was all done based on extreme model forecasts, combined with cooked death numbers. Heart attack? Viral. Cancer? Viral.

I think actual viral deaths are around one-quarter of what’s attributed. That’s ten times less than actual flu deaths, and the country is shut down

It’s all about the numbers, and this stress model is a forecast number that should “trump” the other numbers.

Yep. Only the flu. Except that it is a cold, no one is immune, and the death rate is rapidly approaching 7% and likely to go even higher.

The government does not take the flu lightly, and this is 66 times more deadly.

I’d prefer not to have it spreading uncontrolled through the population. I guess some people won’t take it seriously until 1 of the 15 people who contracts Covid-19 and dies is someone they know, maybe even a family member.

What if instead of the elderly and weak being the primary one’s who die from this virus, it was children under 15?
What would our actions to stop this look like if the stories every day were about children dying? And families not getting to mourn their loss. We care about life in the womb but don’t seem to place the same priority on life at the other end of the spectrum.

One company, Abbott labs has shipped 566,000 rapid testing machines to all 50 states.

We watched a video yesterday of GM transforming to make ventilators...

...that we don’t need.

GM instead should also be making these machines as well as any capable company. Actually they should have been making them weeks ago and instead of 566,000 go to 50 states, it could be 5,000,000. 10,000,000 by the end of May.

Spend the absurd ‘stimulus money’ on enough machines and the personnel, etc. to run them.

Make enough so that private sports franchises, mall owners, etc. can buy them and make entry requisite on a negative test. Sports could start up tomorrow.

Yesterday’s number of new cases were UP! I have no idea how they were talking with optimism at the press conference. We have been holed up AND numbers are RISING!

I think eventually machines and testing, because of asymptomatic spreaders, are the only answer. And the longer Trump waits to multiply Abbott labs the more danger that Biden and the democrats start pushing this narrative and take more votes in November.

One thing to finish with. I think a lot of arguments here begin because posters live in different states with different levels of infection. For at least the sake of my post let’s presume we all have substantial amounts of infection in our states.

Seen on FB:

Here are the official Coronavirus guidelines: 🤯

1. Basically, you can't leave the house for any reason, but if you have to, then you can.

2. Masks are useless, but maybe you have to wear one, it can save you, it is useless, but maybe it is mandatory as well.

3. Stores are closed, except those that are open.

4. You should not go to hospitals unless you have to go there. Same applies to doctors, you should only go there in case of emergency, provided you are not too sick.

5. This virus is deadly but still not too scary, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster.

6. Gloves won't help, but they can still help.

7. Everyone needs to stay HOME, but it's important to GO OUT.

8. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarket, but there are many things missing when you go there in the evening, but not in the morning. Sometimes.

9. The virus has no effect on children except those it affects.

10. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there…

11. You will have many symptoms when you are sick, but you can also get sick without symptoms, have symptoms without being sick, or be contagious without having symptoms. Oh, my..

12. In order not to get sick, you have to eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand and it's better not to go out, well, but no…

13. It's better to get some fresh air, but you get looked at very wrong when you get some fresh air, and most importantly, you don't go to parks or walk. But don’t sit down, except that you can do that now if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant (but not too old).

14. You can't go to retirement homes, but you have to take care of the elderly and bring food and medication.

15. If you are sick, you can't go out, but you can go to the pharmacy.

16. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house, which may have been prepared by people who didn't wear masks or gloves. But you have to have your groceries decontaminated outside for 3 hours. Pizza too?

17. Every disturbing article or disturbing interview starts with "I don't want to trigger panic, but…"

18. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but you can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver.

19. You can walk around with a friend but not with your family if they don't live under the same roof.

20. You are safe if you maintain the appropriate social distance, but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance.

21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours, no, four, no, six, no, we didn't say hours, maybe days? But it takes a damp environment. Oh no, not necessarily.

22. The virus stays in the air - well no, or yes, maybe, especially in a closed room, in one hour a sick person can infect ten, so if it falls, all our children were already infected at school before it was closed. But remember, if you stay at the recommended social distance, however in certain circumstances you should maintain a greater distance, which, studies show, the virus can travel further, maybe.

23. We count the number of deaths but we don't know how many people are infected as we have only tested so far those who were "almost dead" to find out if that's what they will die of…

24. We have no treatment, except that there may be one that apparently is not dangerous unless you take too much (which is the case with all medications).

25. We should stay locked up until the virus disappears, but it will only disappear if we achieve collective immunity, so when it circulates… but we must no longer be locked up for that?

So, let me ask a potentially stupid flu question, since I'm not fluent in flu talk...

So, let's say I go to Home Depot (my governor isn't quite as fascist as others, so Home Depot is still open). As I gather things for my deck staining project, I walk by numerous people, staying 6 feet away when possible. A few are wearing face covering, most are not. All is well, everyone is courteous, following the guidelines.

Anyway, let's say that someone in the store that I walk past is positive - has COVID-19 (or any other flu or virus, but that's not as relevant here, I don't think). Anyway, that person is breathing, just as I am (I try to continue to breathe, even when asleep). They exhale, a few spores are cast into the air, I inhale, even fewer spores (or cells, or whatever you call them) and so have just a tiny touch of the virus in my nose/throat/lungs.

To me, and this is my theory, inhaling a very small amount of the virus would cause my body to start fighting the virus, building antibodies or whatever defense it needs to combat the virus. And since I would have inhaled such a tiny amount, it isn't enough to cause me to get sick, but maybe enough to build up a resistance.

Is it reasonable to assume that a very small exposure might build up a resistance in people in such a way that if later exposed to a larger amount of the virus, they already have some immunity built up? Isn't that kind of how a vaccine would work?

Just spitballing here - something I was thinking about as I drove home from Home Depot the other day.
