Only recently learned Smithfield was sold to Chinese. I had bought a small smithfield ham for Easter. Never buying another Smithfield product again. They used to be well known in VA.

Genuine Smithfield Ham is like Zellwood Corn or Vidalia Onions
It’s a type of ham from a specific region
Smithfield Foods is another animal ...a corporate mantle specializing in pork products
I know it is confusing
