Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced today that over the past several weeks his office has opened criminal investigations into several Pennsylvania nursing homes.
Shapiro said in a press release that his office will investigate any nursing home engaging in criminal neglect of patients and residents. He did not offer any details as to how many nursing homes are being investigated or where they are located.
According to state Department of Health numbers released Tuesday, there are 12,130 resident cases of COVID-19 and 1,724 cases among employees in nursing and personal care homes statewide, for a total of 13,854 at 540 facilities in 44 counties. The state has 57,991 cases total.
Out of the total deaths, 2,611 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities — about 68.6 percent.

I’m not about to dispute that there are abusive nursing homes, and that they do indeed need to be investigated. The amount of money that’s involved almost guarantees that.
But the timing of this is suspicious.

Why would ANYBODY want to administer a nursing home today? Required by LAW to accept patients for whom they have no adequate safeguards in place, subject to criminal prosecution if they do not, or cannot, then gain access to means to provide that care.
Handy scapegoats they may be, but like all other professionals and practitioners of necessary medical services, if there is no prospect of reward or recognition of achievement, then the service, however necessary it may be deemed to be, will cease to be provided. Old people shall have to be sheltered in a responsible person’s home, or turned out on the street.
Shapiro is a huge Lefty. Not a shock.
It may get to the point they have to carry insurance, like malpractice insurance to protect themselves.

This guy, Levine, appears to be a partisan Democrat appointed hack.
Levine also moved his 95 yr.old mother out of a nursing home once he ordered the homes to admit COVID-19 patients and those suspected of infection.
The whole overcounting of COVID bodies is a HUGE Medicaid scam IMHO.
I saw that article. He did this on purpose.
